Caledonia Community Schools, located 15 miles southeast of Grand Rapids, in the lovely village of Caledonia, has an early childhood learning center, five elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools, serving approximately 3,500 students. Caledonia prides itself on its caring and “personalized” learning and community-developed curriculum, and staff are dedicated to using best practices and meaningful learning experiences for their students. Incorporating community resources is an important element of the Caledonia education, using field trips, service learning projects, internships, senior exhibitions and interim experiences.

The Caledonia Community Schools met the difficult-to-achieve national AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) standards in all schools across the board, an impressive feat. Caledonia Community Schools made a composite MEAP score of “B” in all but one school, and Kraft Meadows Middle School received an “C” for academics, but did meet AYP.

Caledonia offers an exceptional Applied Technology program, with engineering, design, architecture, and applied mechanics courses. They also offer a full course of art studies, a business curriculum, communications and web design classes, sports medicine, an award winning music department, veterinary science and agribusiness courses,  as well as the Common Core Curriculum standards. They partner with the Kent Career Tech Center and MIVHS to offer the widest possible options to cater to students' areas of interest. Their AP offerings include 13 classes across 5 subjects.  And finally, over 90% of graduates pursue post-secondary education.
